Koihime Musō ( jap. 恋姫†無双 even Koihime Musō: Doki Otome Darake no Sangokushi Engi , 恋姫†無双~ドキッ☆乙女だらけの三国志演義~ ) is a Ren'ai-Adventure - Strategy - eroge the Japanese game developer BaseSon from the Year 2007. The game was adapted as an anime and manga .

content

The franchise is based on the classic Chinese novel The Tale of the Three Kingdoms . The action takes place during and after the fall of the Han Dynasty in China, but most of the characters are female and the three kingdoms that emerged after the Han period already existed here.

At first the three kingdoms are still loyal to the Han, but then a civil war breaks out, the princes fight each other and the empire collapses. Several factions are formed: The Shoku, led by Kazuto Hongō in Koihime Musō, the Gi faction under Queen Sōsō of the Wei Empire, the Go faction, led by the Princess Sonken of the Wu Empire, the Tōtaku under the Governor Tōtaku Dong Province and the En / Yuan under the Mistress Enshō of the Yuan Province. Later, the Kōkintō come under the Zhang sisters and Chōkaku, Chōhō and Chōryō and the Nanban led by Mōkaku.

Game principle and technology

Koihime Musō is a visual novel . The game is shown as text, supported by graphics, occasional animations and background music. At key points in the action, the player can use multiple choice to decide how the action should continue; the storylines then branch out like a playbook .

Publication of the games

The PC game developed by BaseSon was released in Japan on January 26, 2007 by Nexton. K. Baggio was in charge of the production, with Izumi Kumashiro, Takuya Aoyama, Assault and Shiina Arai as authors. Kōnan Hachina, Tantaka, Hiyota Katagiri, Eiji Nichi and Hokuto Saeki were responsible for the character design and backgrounds, the music comes from Takumaru, Ryō Mizutsuki and Ichinoryū Uehara.

An English version was published on February 28, 2011 by MangaGamer financed by Nexton. Due to the large number of characters and the associated costs for the licensing of the Japanese dubbing voices, Nexton decided to license the voices for the English version only from 2000 copies sold. A new release with the Japanese voices appeared on April 5, 2012.

On November 20, 2008, the adult version developed by Regista for the PlayStation 2 , which was distributed by Yeti, followed.

On December 20, 2010, a browser game adaptation followed in Japan called Web Koihime Musō (Web 恋 姫 † 無双 ), distributed by Gamania Digital Entertainment. In March 2012, the beta registration for the German-language implementation under the title Koihime Musou - Battle Maidens opened .
