Kolonistenkrug ( Danish Kolonistkro ) is a place in the municipality of Handewitt . which is sometimes also called Haurupfeld-West .

location

The place consists of the street of the same name Kolonistenkrug, which leads west to the edge of the community of Großenwiehe . Today the street has a total of four address numbers (1–4). At the eastern end of the street Kolonistenkrug are the houses of the street Haurup-West, with the house numbers Haurup-West No. 2, 2a, 3, 4, 4a and 5. Christiansheide is located 1.5 kilometers to the north . The villages of Hüllerup and Haurup are 1.5 and 2.5 kilometers to the northeast. Incidentally, directly north and south of the village of Haurup are Haurup-Nord and Haurup-Süd (or Haurupfeld-Nord and Haurupfeld-Süd). The main town of Handewitt is five kilometers north of the Kolonistenkrug. Wanderup is also located three kilometers to the southeast .

history

From 1761 King Friedrich V had the sparsely populated heather and moor areas on the Schleswigschen Gest colonized by people from Palatinate and Hesse . On the Hauruperfeld-West three colonist posts were set up, which belonged to colony No. 9 Magdalenenheide. Further parts of the said colony No. 9 emerged at the same time in the neighboring area of ​​Großenwiehe. The Haurup part of the Magdalenenheide colony consisted of the colonists' offices Wagers Hof (colonist jug No. 1) and Plessen Hof (Haurup-West No. 3), Doratheen Hof (Haurup-West No. 5).

The beginnings were very difficult for the colonists. They were not allowed to earn extra income. However, on April 5, 1794, the Wagers Hof received jug justice from King Christian VII. Since then, coachmen and horses have been able to take a break in the "Kolonistenkrug" restaurant . The location was already marked on the maps of the Danish land survey from 1857/58 and the Prussian land survey around 1879. The local inn ceased operations in 1927. The place name Kolonistenkrug was retained. The place was incorporated in 1974 as part of the municipality of Haurup after Handewitt.

The "Kolonistenkrug wind farm" was recently built to the northwest of the village. Today the place also has a Kolonistenkrug bus stop. The Flensburg central bus station , for example, can be reached from there using line 125 .
