The Konarski Chapel is one of the 19 chapels that surround the Kraków Cathedral . It is also called the Szaniawski Chapel. It is dedicated to the Conception of Mary and is located in the southern ambulatory .
history
The chapel was donated in 1351 by Bishop Jan Bodzanta in Gothic style. They were rebuilt in the Renaissance style from 1520 to 1521 as a burial chapel for Bishop Jan Konarski and again for Bishop Konstanty Felicjan Szaniawski in the late Baroque style by Kacper Bażanka in the years 1722 to 1728. There was an early Renaissance in the chapel -Altar by Michael Lancz from Kitzingen , currently on display in the Krakow National Museum.

The altarpiece was created by Rafał Hadziewicz in 1834 . Konarski's tomb is in the High Renaissance style, while Szaniawski's tomb is in the late Baroque style. Puzyna's grave slab is in Art Nouveau style.
