Kong Yingchao ( Chinese 孔 颖超 , Pinyin Kǒng Yǐngchāo , born October 9, 1982 in Tongliao , Inner Mongolia , China ) is a Chinese biathlete .
Career
Kong Yingchao started biathlon in 1995 . She is a sports soldier who does not compete for a club, but for the Chinese biathlon association. The athlete, who lives in Dalian and was trained by Wang Weiyi and René Altenburger-Koch (until 2008 Klaus Siebert ), made her debut at the 1999 World Cup in Lake Placid . In her first sprint, she finished 55th and was able to qualify immediately for the subsequent pursuit, but did not finish there. In her fourth World Cup appearance in 2000 in Ruhpolding , she made it into the top ten for the first time. Over the next few years, the athlete was very volatile. Good results are almost always followed by bad to very bad. She did not finish several times - either because of lapping in the pursuit or because of disqualification.
In the 2004/05 season she finally managed to stabilize. She finished in the top 10 four times this season, twice, in the sprint and the pursuit of Pokljuka , she came second. She took part in the Olympic Winter Games in 2002 , 2006 and 2010 , but could not achieve any top placements apart from a 17th place in the pursuit in Turin . Their world championship starts from 2000 to 2008 were not very successful , apart from a sixth place in the 2005 mass start in Hochfilzen .
