Konrad Gericke

Konrad Gericke (born October 14, 1904 in Tegel near Berlin ; † October 6, 1980 ) was a German actor , dramaturge and theater manager . Gericke was a party functionary of the GDR bloc party NDPD as well as a functionary of the Kulturbund for the democratic renewal of Germany and the national front of the democratic Germany .

Life

Gericke, the son of a farmer, attended high school in Berlin and initially learned to be a bank clerk. He later received an acting training from Professor Ferdinand Gregori . From 1925 he worked as an actor, director and dramaturge. He had engagements in Detmold , Halberstadt , Magdeburg , Zwickau , Osnabrück , Berlin , Annaberg , Eisenach , Dresden and Gotha, among others .

In 1949 Gericke joined the NDPD and became chairman of the Erfurt district association of the NDPD and city ​​councilor in Erfurt. Here he most recently headed the acting department at the Thuringian State Conservatory. From 1951 to 1954 Gericke was director of the Stadttheater Cottbus and then from 1954 to 1960 director of the Friedrich Wolf Theater in Neustrelitz . From the end of 1960 he was a lecturer at the Leipzig Theater Academy .

During his time in Cottbus he was also chairman of the Cottbus district management of the cultural association for the democratic renewal of Germany. From 1954 to 1960 Gericke was a member of the Neubrandenburg district assembly and first chairman of the Neubrandenburg district committee of the National Front. Gericke was also part of the main committee of the NDPD for a time.
