Konrad Heinrich von der Mosel (born November 25, 1664 in Mosel near Zwickau , † August 27, 1733 in Wesel ) was a Prussian general and governor of Wesel .

origin

His parents were Wolf Konrad von der Mosel (* 1588; † November 27, 1670) and his third wife Anna Katharina von Harras , from the house of Lichtenwalde .

Life

In 1703 he was a major in the Alt-Heyden regiment at that time. On November 24, 1709 he became a colonel in the regiment of Prince George of Hesse and on June 4, 1721 Major General. In 1723 he was given Infantry Regiment No. 28 . 7 years later he became governor of Wesel, on May 15, 1731 he was awarded the Drostei Bislich (today a district of the city of Wesel). In April 1733 he was appointed lieutenant general. He died in Wesel in 1733, where he was governor until his death.

He secured his place in history when the then Crown Prince Friedrich wanted to flee to England via Holland from his father and King Friedrich Wilhelm I. He was caught and met his angry father on August 12, 1730 in the general's house, who wanted to stab him with his sword. The intervention of the general prevented worse things from happening.

The Drostei Bislich was then awarded to General Henning Alexander von Kleist .

family

He married Beatrix von Römer from the Niedersteinplais family. Konrad Heinrich's son Friedrich Wilhelm (1709–1777) also became a Prussian general.
