Konrad Hoheisel

Konrad Hoheisel (born November 12, 1862 in Alt Rothwasser , Austrian Silesia , † September 15, 1930 in Vienna ) was an Austrian postal worker .

Life

Konrad Hoheisel studied law at the University of Vienna and was employed by the Austrian Post in 1886. In Vienna he married Marie Perzina , with whom he had two children (Konrad and Emma); later he was transferred to Trieste and Linz . In 1910 Hoheisel became President of the Post and Telegraph Directorate in Vienna and in 1918 Section Head and General Director for Post and Telegraph Affairs.

After the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy , he led the modernization of the Austrian postal system and helped it to gain international renown. The postal vehicle service was expanded, the long-distance cable network expanded, and air mail , radio and telegraph traffic set up.
