Konrad Reinherz was the son of the decoration painter Wilhelm Reinherz from Wroclaw and started working in his business after school, only to take it over from his father later. At the beginning of the 1860s, however, he moved to Munich to train as a landscape painter. There he became a student of Richard Zimmermann , with whom he became friends and went on study trips. The influence of the circle around Wilhelm von Diez on his painterly work became even greater . Diez made a portrait of Reinherz. He was a member and for a time on the board of the Munich artists' cooperative .
