Konrad Walcher

Konrad Walcher (born November 22, 1871 in Reichenfels , Carinthia ; † June 3, 1928 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee , Carinthia) was an Austrian clergyman and briefly politician ( CSP ).

Life

As a boy, Konrad Walcher attended high school in St. Paul Abbey in Lavanttal . Nevertheless, he graduated from high school in Klagenfurt . Walcher studied theology in the Carinthian capital . In 1896 he was ordained a priest there . Then he was pastor and dean in Sankt Veit an der Glan .

From 1896–1911 Walcher was editor-in-chief of the CSP organ Kärntner Tagblatt . His successor was Michael Paulitsch .

In 1910 he was a member of the 10th Carinthian Landtag . In December 1920 he entered the Federal Council in Vienna for the Christian Social Party . Walcher was a member of the second Austrian parliamentary chamber until June 1927.

Honors

Walcher was an honorary member of the Karantania Klagenfurt secondary school association of the CV association KÖStV Rudolfina Vienna .
