Eduard Konrad Weiss (born March 10, 1863 in Altdorf near Nuremberg , † November 24, 1943 in Nuremberg ) was a German politician ( Free People's Party , DDP ).

Life and work

After attending the elementary school in Altdorf , Weiß, who was of Protestant faith, attended the preparatory school in Neustadt an der Aisch from 1876 to 1879 and then the teachers' seminar in Altdorf until 1881. After working as a teacher in Fürth and Nuremberg and successfully completing the secondary school teacher examination, he was an inspector at the commercial advanced training school in Nuremberg from 1896, where he became city school inspector in 1903 and city school councilor in 1911.

Political party

Initially, Weiß belonged to the Free People's Party , which in 1910 united with other left-wing liberal groups to form the Progressive People's Party . When the German Democratic Party was founded from this in 1918 , Weiß also took part.

MP

Weiß had been a member of the Central Franconian District Administrator since 1893. From 1893 to 1911 he was also a member of the Nuremberg community college and then of the city council. From 1893 to 1898 he was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Middle Franconia 2 ( Erlangen - Fürth ), where he was able to prevail in a runoff election against the social democratic candidate Segitz. In 1898 he ran again, but did not get into the runoff election. In 1919/20 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly and in July 1919 was involved in the final negotiations on the Weimar school compromise . Then he was again a member of the Reichstag until 1924 .
