Konrad Weigand (born December 12, 1842 in Bamberg , † December 3, 1897 in Nuremberg ) was a German genre and history painter.

After attending August von Kreling's art school in Nuremberg, Weigand studied history painting at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich from April 26, 1872 under Wilhelm von Diez and Wilhelm Lindenschmit the Younger ,

One of his first works, the scene for Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar", brought him first prize and, as a result, the commission for wall paintings in the state rooms of Hohenzollern Castle .

This was followed by a series of historical pictures, such as the representation of a “religious conversation” between Ulrich von Hutten , Franz von Sickingen with Martin Bucer , “Luther's entry into Worms”, “Albrecht Dürer's wedding in Nuremberg”, “Robber baron Hans Schüttensamen, like him with his Companions captured in Nuremberg in 1465 ”and“ Luther's wedding party ”.

He also painted genre pictures such as “In der Thurmstube”, “Der Maigraf”, “Musikanten” and “Bagpiper”.

In the town hall in Landshut, Weigand created the large fresco painting “ Wedding procession of Duke George the Rich ” together with Rudolf von Seitz , Ludwig von Löfftz and August Spieß .

His works also appeared in the " Gartenlaube ".
