Konstantin Michailowitsch Romanow ( Russian Константин Михайлович Романов ; born March 14, 1985 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a Kazakh - Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Ertis Pavlodar in the Kazakh ice hockey championship since 2017 .

Career

Konstantin Romanov began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the HK Dynamo Moscow , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 2004/05 season , where he was Russian champion straight away in his rookie year . The attacker contributed to winning the title with five scorer points in 30 games. At European level he won the IIHF European Champions Cup with Dynamo in 2006 , in the final of which he and his team prevailed against Kärpät Oulu from the Finnish SM-liiga . In the summer of 2008 Romanov was obliged by Barys Astana from the newly founded Continental Hockey League , but remained in the 2008/09 season without KHL use for the Kazakhs. This was to change in the following years: By 2016 he had played more than 250 games for his team (including playoffs). After the 2015/16 season, he did not receive another contract extension and moved to Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk , where he played in the Vysschaya Hockey League as well as in the Kazakh ice hockey championship. In 2017 he moved on to HK Ertis Pawlodar , who also plays in the Kazakh championship.

International

For Kazakhstan Romanov took part in the World Cup in Division I in 2011 , where he and his team achieved promotion to the top division. In the following year he could not avoid relegation with his team at the World Cup in Finland and Sweden . The new start in Group A of Division I of the 2013 World Cup was successful: thanks to three goals by Romanow - two in the 5-2 opening win over Japan and one in the 5-0 success against the later relegated Great Britain - the Asians succeeded as group winners the immediate return to the upper house of the ice hockey world championships. Previously, in February 2013, he had already participated in the qualification for the 2014 Winter Olympics, but failed here with the Kazakh team in Latvia , against which the decisive game was lost 3-2. In 2014 he played with the Kazakhs again in the top division, but could not reach relegation again.
