Konstantin Valerjewitsch Rudenko ( Russian Константин Валерьевич Руденко ; born July 23, 1981 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a Russian - Kazakh ice hockey player who was last under contract with Barys Astana from the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Konstantin Rudenko started his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . From there he moved to HK Awangard Omsk , for whose second team he was active in the third class Pervaya League in the 1997/98 season . He then played for a year for the second team of Severstal Tscherepowez in the second division of the Russian Federation, which was due to discrepancies uniquely parallel to the game of the Wysschaya League . In the 1999/2000 season the winger made his debut for SKA Saint Petersburg in the Superliga , the top Russian division.

For the 2000/01 season Rudenko moved within the Super League to Lokomotive Yaroslavl . With his professional team he won the Russian championship title in 2002 and 2003 . In the following years, the Russian established himself as a regular for Lokomotiv in the Super League, in the last season of which, the 2007/08 season, he was runner-up. From the 2008/09 season he was on the ice for Yaroslavl in the newly formed Continental Hockey League . In the KHL premier season he and his team reached the playoff final for the Gagarin Cup straight away , in which he and his team had to admit defeat to Ak Bars Kazan with 3: 4 wins in the best-of-seven series . For the 2011/12 season Rudenko signed a contract with Atlant Mytishchi , where he only spent one season. He then returned to his Kazakh homeland and was on the ice at Barys Astana until 2016 .

International

The Russian-born Rudenko, who was born in Kazakhstan, did not appear internationally for a long time. It was not until he was 33 that he made his debut for the Kazakh national team at the 2015 World Cup in Division I and was named captain of the team at this first appearance in the national dress. With the Asians, he managed to climb into the top division as the unbeaten group winner, to which he made a significant contribution as the best preparer of the tournament and top scorer - together with his compatriots Roman Startschenko , Kevin Dallman , Evgeny Rymarew and Wadim Krasnoslobodzew as well as the Hungarian Andrew Sarauer .
