The Konya Ataturk Stadyumu ( Turkish Konya Ataturk Stadium , officially Konya Büyükşehir Belediyesi Ataturk Stadyumu ) was a football stadium in the Turkish city of Konya . The facility was the home ground of the Konyaspor football club until the end of the 2013/14 season . The facility was completed in 1950. Most recently it offered 22,456 seats. In 2005 the venue was equipped with new plastic seats. In addition to the stadium in Balikesir , the Konya Ataturk Stadyumu was used for cycling races.
On May 7, 2014, the final of the Turkish Football Cup was played in Konya Ataturk Stadyumu. Eskişehirspor lost to Galatasaray Istanbul in front of 22,456 spectators in the sold out house with 0: 1. Konyaspor's last game at the sports facility took place four days later on May 11 against Kayserispor . The home side won the match on the penultimate match day of the Süper Lig 2013/14 3-0. The last goal in the stadium was scored by striker Theofanis Gekas . For the 2014/15 season Konyaspor moved to the newly built Konya Büyükşehir Stadı . It was opened in mid-September 2014 after around two years of construction.
Demolition work on the stadium building began in September 2018.
