Kopatschiw (Ukrainian Копачів ; Russian Копачов / Kopatschow ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast Chernihiv with about 70 inhabitants.
The village is located in Koselets district in Chernihiv Oblast , around 10 km west of the M01 motorway ( Kiev - Chernihiv ) on the left bank of the Desna River . The Rajon capital Koselez is 35 kilometers south, the Oblast capital Chernihiv 33 northeast of the village.
Together with the village of Nadyniwka to the south, it forms the district council of Nadyniwka.
Kopachiv was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1503; the Cossack village was in the Chernigov governorate until the end of the Russian Empire in 1918 .
