The Koran angelfish ( Pomacanthus semicirculatus ) is a species of the genus Pomacanthus from the angelfish family (Pomacanthidae).
Appearance
Koran angelfish grow up to 40 centimeters long. Their basic body color is green-brown. Blue stripes and dots cover the whole body.
Young Koran angelfish are dark blue with light blue and white stripes on their bodies.
distribution
Koran angelfish live in the Red Sea , in the Indian Ocean from the coast of South and East Africa and in the western Pacific to Okinawa and New Caledonia . They mostly occur at depths of less than 25 meters. They prefer regions rich in corals with many hiding spots.
behavior
Koran angelfish live in pairs. You are very shy. Your territories are very large, 1000 m² and more.
nutrition
Ring angelfish feed on sponges , other bottom-dwelling invertebrates, and occasionally algae.
Aquarium keeping
Koran angelfish are occasionally imported for keeping in saltwater aquariums. Responsible enthusiasts should refrain from buying, as animals of this size cannot be given an adequate habitat.
