The artist family Korb was a family from the Swabian Mühlheim an der Donau who designed numerous sacred buildings throughout the area in the 17th and 18th centuries .

Significant basket

The most significant basket was the Baroque - sculptor Franz basket . With his sculptures, for example, he designed the parish church in Nendingen , which was built in 1751 .

Act

The peculiarity of Korb's work lies primarily in its strong importance in the region. In 1753 they created the high altar of the parish church of St. Gallus and the entire interior of the plague chapel of St. Sebastian in Mühlheim in addition to Nendingen . Other works are the altarpiece in the church in Weilheim and in Kreenheinstetten and Hattingen . Basket works can also be found in Wurmlingen and Balgheim .

They also shaped the medieval townscape of Mühlheim with numerous metal guild signs and their work at the castle of Baron von Enzberg .

Art techniques

The Korb family used numerous different techniques . These were sculpture (e.g. marble in Nendingen), wood carving (St. Sebastian Mühlheim), metal processing (guild mark in Mühlheim) and also numerous pictures by the painter Anton Korb .

A unique selling point of Korb's work is the level of detail . For example, a high altar carving has over 100 individual figures.
