Korytnica is a village and seat of the rural municipality of the same name in the powiat Węgrowski of the Masovian Voivodeship , Poland .

history

The village of Korytnica was first mentioned in 1419. Around 1427 there was a parish of the Płock diocese there . From 1795 it belonged to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy , from 1809 to the Duchy of Warsaw , from 1815 to the Congress of Poland . Korytnica has been on Polish territory since 1918.

At the end of the 18th century, Korytnica was owned by the royal chamberlain, Simone de Cortelli. Since 1836 it was owned by Ignacy Sobieski, later by Count Adam Ronikier. Around 1902 it was taken over by Teodor Holder-Egger.

In August 1915 the Russians left Korytnica and the village came under German rule. At the end of 1918 the Polish authorities were established. In September 1920, Korytnica was briefly occupied by the Red Army . During World War II , Korytnica was occupied by the Wehrmacht on September 11, 1939 , and the Soviet armed forces arrived on August 11, 1944 .
