Kostobobriw ( Ukrainian Костобобрів ; Russian Костобобров Kostobobrov ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Oblast Chernihiv with about 800 inhabitants (2001).
The village is located near the state border with the Russian Oblast Bryansk on the bank of the Harkawka ( Гаркавка ), a 13 km long, left tributary of the Revna ( Ревна ), 27 km east of the Semenivka district center and 160 km northeast of the Chernihiv oblast center .
Territorial road T-25-33 runs through the village .
history
The village emerged at the beginning of the 18th century. Another source mentions the year 1200 as the year of foundation.
Until September 2018 Kostobobriw was the administrative center of the same name, 71.08 km² District Municipality in northeastern Rajon Semenivka nor the village to the Serhijiwske ( Сергіївське , ⊙ ) was one of about 20 residents. Since September 2018 the village has been part of the territorial community of the city of Semenivka .
Sons and daughters of the village
- Issaak Masepa (1884–1954), President of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian People's Republic , was born on August 6, 1884 in the village.
- The father of the murdered Russian-American reporter, author and human rights activist Anna Stepanovna Politkovskaya (1958–2003), Stepan Fedorowytsch Masepa, came from Kostobobriw.
