Kōsuke Ozaki ( Japanese 尾崎 光 輔 , Ozaki Kōsuke ; born October 7, 1992 in Yamagata ) is a Japanese biathlete.

Career

Ozaki's first international appearances were at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2012 in Kontiolahti . In his three appearances, he was 73rd individual, 52nd sprint and 60th in the pursuit. After that he did not compete in international competitions for a few years.

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season , Ozaki returned to the biathlon circus in the IBU Cup. In the sprint of Beitostølen he was 57th and 38th. Just a few weeks later, Kōsuke Ozaki made his World Cup debut. With the season of Japan he was alongside Mikito Tachizaki , Tsukasa Kobonoki and Junji Nagai 19th in Pokljuka . In his first World Cup individual race a week later in Nové Město na Moravě he was 91st in the sprint. After changing appearances in the World Cup and IBU Cup , Ozaki took part in the 2017 World Championships in Hochfilzen . He was 86th in the sprint and 15th in the men's relay. In the 2017/18 season, his appearances alternated between the IBU Cup and the World Cup , where he mostly played relay appearances . Also at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Kōsuke Ozaki started in various competition classes. In Nove Mesto na Moravě he could in December 2018 World Cup with the 60th place in the sprint for a World Cup qualifying Chase for the first time. With the 52nd place there he achieved his best World Cup result so far.
