Kōtarō Taniguchi ( Japanese 谷口 耕 太郎 , Taniguchi Kōtarō; born November 3, 1994 in Ayase ) is a Japanese sprinter who specializes in the 200-meter run .

Athletic career

Kōtarō Taniguchi gained his first international experience in 2014 when he finished fourth in the Asian 4 x 100 meter relay in 39.50 s at the Continental Cup in Marrakech . At the 2015 IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas, he finished third in 38.20 s and then finished fourth at the Asian Championships in Wuhan in the 200-meter run in 20.69 s. He then won the Japanese 4 x 100 meter relay in 39.08 s at the Summer Universiade in Gwangju and reached seventh place over 200 meters in 21.17 s. With the relay he also took part in the World Championships in Beijing , but did not reach the final there in 38.60 s . Two years later he was sixth over 200 meters at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar in 21.01 s.
