The Ophrys Kotschyi ( Ophrys kotschyi ) is a plant type that the genre of the Ragwurzen ( Ophrys part), an orchid genus from the family of the orchid (Orchidaceae).
features
This herbaceous perennial plant has two egg to spherical tubers as persistence organs. It reaches heights of growth between 10 and 35 cm. At the base of the stem you will find one or two elliptical scale leaves , two to seven leaves in a base rosette and one or two leaves higher up. The inflorescence is loose and includes three to ten flowers , the bracts appear longer than the ovary . The sepals are green or pink, sometimes with a slight brown tinge. The lateral hairy petals appear green with a brownish background. The lip is colored black-purple. It is deep three-lobed, the side lobes are humped and hairy on top. The mark has an ornamental, red-violet and silvery border.
It blooms from February to April.
Location and distribution
This species can be found in sparse coniferous forests, garrigues , sand dunes and woody plantations with moderately dry to moist, but always calcareous soils up to a height of 800 meters above sea level. This orchid is endemic to Cyprus .
