The Kráľova hoľa ( 1946  m nm , German Königsberg ) is the highest mountain in the eastern part of the Low Tatras (Nízke Tatry) and represents the last significant elevation on the eastern edge of the mountains. Thus, the mountain is also namesake for the eastern part of the Low Tatras Tatra Mountains, called Kráľovohoľské Tatry .

The name is said to go back to the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus , who owned a hunting ground on the mountain in the 15th century.

The Kráľova hoľa lies between the communities Liptovská Teplička , Vernár , Telgárt and Šumiac .

A non-public driveway leads from the latter place up to the mountain, on which a television broadcasting system has stood since 1960. A 137.5 meter high, guyed tubular steel mast is used as the antenna carrier. This mast used to have a closed gallery, which was accessible via an external spiral staircase. The summit can be reached on hiking trails from the other places mentioned as well as from the west over the main ridge of the Low Tatras.

Four of the most important rivers in Slovakia - Hron , Hornád , Hnilec and Váh (with the source river Čierny Váh ) - arise on the slopes or in the immediate vicinity , which is why the mountain has a certain importance in the national identity of the country.

The summit region lies above the tree line and allows a comprehensive view in all directions.
