The power plant Erstfeldertal is a medium pressure - hydropower plant at Alpbach in the town of Erstfeld in the canton of Uri in Switzerland , which is to go in December 2020 operation.
history
Attempts were made as early as 1918 to dam the Fulensee ▼ at an altitude of 1705 m at the back of the Erstfeldertal, but this was not pursued any further. A water intake on the Alpbach was also part of the Urseren power plant project of 1943/44 , where the water would have been processed as a secondary inflow in the headquarters in Erstfeld. The project to use the power of the Alpbach was not pursued for a long time because the community of Erstfeld feared that drinking water sources would dry up. In 2017 the Altdorf electricity company resumed a project with a reduced height of fall, but there was a need to hurry to prevent the cost-covering feed-in remuneration (KEV) guaranteed by the Erstfeld municipal utility from being forfeited. The license application for the power plant was submitted in March 2018, and the building permit for the power plant was granted in November of the same year. The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the power plant took place in May 2019 , and commissioning is scheduled for December 2020.
technology
The water of the Alpbach is collected at Schopfen ▼ , where it is treated in an underground desander before it is carried in a 1,100 m long penstock to the headquarters in the Spätach district of Erstfeld. Three Pelton turbines will be installed in the machine house - two have an output of 5.75 MW each, a third an output of 0.65 MW.
