Shaquille Pinas (born March 19, 1998 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch football player of Surinamese descent who has been under contract with the honorary division ADO Den Haag since July 2017 . He can be used both as a left full-back and as a center -back and is a former Dutch U20 international .

Career

Shaquille Pinas, born in Rotterdam , started playing football at SC Feyenoord and joined the Feyenoord youth academy in 2004 . From 2007 to 2010 he played for ADO Den Haag and after a short stay with the Alphense Boys , he joined FC Dordrecht at the age of 13 . In January 2017 he was promoted to the first team there and on January 20, 2017 he made his debut in the 3-0 home win against the reserve team of FC Utrecht in the second-highest Dutch division . In the 2016/17 season he played four more league games and played mainly as a left full- back.

In July 2017 Shaquille Pinas joined the first division ADO Den Haag , where he was assigned to the reserve team. By October at the latest, he was regularly listed in the first team's matchday squad. On December 16, 2017 (17th matchday) he made his debut in the 3-0 away defeat against PSV Eindhoven in the first team when he came on for Björn Maars Johnsen in the 82nd minute of the game . In the 2017/18 season he played five league games and was always used as a central defender . In the following season 2018/19 he was often used in central defense and completed a total of 18 league games. His final breakthrough as a regular player came in the next 2019/20 season . On August 31, 2019 (5th matchday), he scored the only goal of the day in a 1-0 home win against VVV-Venlo . On February 29, 2020 (25th matchday) he flew in the 0-0 draw against Heracles Almelo in the 90th minute with “yellow-red”. After serving his one-game suspension, the league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic . By then, he had played in 25 league games in which he scored three goals.

National team

Shaquille Pinas is of Surinamese descent and could therefore appear for both the Netherlands and the Suriname national team .

Between October 2018 and March 2019, he played six international matches for the Dutch U20 national team .
