The Kapar power plant (or Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz power plant ) is a coal-fired power plant in the state of Selangor , Malaysia , which is located on the Strait of Malacca . It was named after Salahuddin Abdul Aziz . The city of Klang is about 10 km east of the power plant.
The power plant is owned by Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn. Bhd. (KEV) and is also operated by KEV. KEV is a joint venture between Tenaga Nasional Berhad (60%) and Malakoff Corporation Berhad (40%).

The two steam boilers in plant 1 were originally fired with oil; in the 1990s they were converted to run on natural gas . The steam boilers in systems 2 and 3 can be fired with coal, oil or natural gas. Plant 4 consists of two gas turbines .
