The power plant Lengarica ( Albanian  Hidrocentrali i Lengaricës ) is a riverside Lengarica located hydroelectric power plant near the village of Petran , community  Përmet , in South albania . Construction of the power plant began in 2011 and commissioning took place in 2015. The installed capacity is 8.946  MW and the annual average annual production is 32.98 GWh . This corresponds to an average output of 3.2 MW and the average annual consumption of around 10,000 households. The comparatively low capacity factor for a hydropower plantof around 35% results from the fact that, for environmental reasons, electrical energy should only be produced for 3307 hours per year, which corresponds to approx. 138 days per year. Construction costs of around 27.5 million euros are expected.

The plan is above the Lengarica Canyon refer to flow water through a roughly four-kilometer tunnel, which is also used as an hourly memory for storing the canyon and then in a four kilometers culvert and a pressure line to the machine house is passed into Petran . A height difference of 148 meters is used. The construction is not intended to affect the gorge or the thermal springs at its end, but resistance from the local population and environmental activists nonetheless arose. A residual water of at least 200 liters per second should remain in the river.

The generator voltage in the power plant is 6.3 kV, which is transformed to 35 kV for transmission via two machine transformers on the machine house. A high-voltage line designed as an overhead line for 35 kV leads from the power station to the transformer station in Përmet, six kilometers away , where it is connected to the supraregional 110 kV network .
