The Senoko Power Station is an oil and gas power plant in Singapore , which in the industrial zone Senoko the district Northwest is located. Across the street from Johor is the Malaysian city of Johor Bahru .
With an installed capacity of 3,307 MW , Senoko is the most powerful power plant in Singapore.
Power plant units
Oil power plant
The first three blocks, each with a maximum output of 120 MW, went online in 1976. They were in operation until 2000 when they were replaced by combined cycle turbines . Blocks 4 to 6 have now also been shut down. In their place, two combined cycle turbines (units 6 and 7 of the gas power plant; see below) with a total output of 862 MW were put into operation in 2013. As a result, only units 7 and 8 have been operational since 2013. They serve to cover peak loads. The following table gives an overview:
block | Max. Power (MW) | Start of operation | turbine | generator | Steam boiler |

Gas power plant
The power plant consists of a total of 7 units with different capacities that went into operation from 1991 to 2013. They serve to cover the base load . Units 1 and 2 were originally simple gas turbines that were subsequently expanded to become combined cycle turbines . The following table gives an overview:

In September 2008 Temasek Holdings sold Senoko Power Pte Ltd. for S $ 3.65 billion to the Lion Power consortium . The consortium consists of the Japanese companies Marubeni (30%), Kansai Electric Power Company (15%), Kyūshū Electric Power Company (15%) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (10%) as well as the French GDF Suez (30%) .
On 13 January 2010 Senoko Power changed its name and became Senoko Energy Pte Ltd .
Remarks
- ↑ The capacity of all still active power plant units is 3,307 MW, but the capacity allocated by the Energy Market Authority is only 3.3 GW
