On January 1, 2012, Gesundheitsholding Tauberfranken gGmbH became the corporate and organizational umbrella of the Krankenhaus und Heime Main-Tauber GmbH (KHMT) - consisting of the Tauberbischofsheim hospital, the neighboring Haus Heimberg senior citizen center and the Gerlachsheim senior citizen center - and the Caritas hospital Bad Mergentheim gGmbH (CKBM) was founded, with both KHMT and CKBM continuing to exist as independent companies. The joint health holding is supported by three shareholders:
- Barmherzige Brüder Trier gGmbH ( BBT Group ) with 51 percent
- Caritas Association of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart with 29 percent
- Main-Tauber district with 20 percent
The shareholders of the KHMT today are the health holding Tauberfranken and the Main-Tauber-Kreis. The management of the KHMT is in the hands of the "Barmherzigen Brüder Trier gGmbH" (BBT).
