Kreßbach is a hamlet belonging to the Neudenau suburb of Siglingen in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg .
location
Kreßbach is about three kilometers south of Siglingen on the plateau between Jagst and Kocher . The Kreßbach flows along the southern edge of the hamlet and flows into the Jagst about four kilometers to the west in the Neudenau village of Herbolzheim , and a short tributary flows into it past the eastern edge of the settlement; the valleys of both are quite shallow. On the west, north and east sides of Kreßbach there are widely open fields, mostly fields. In the south, the Aspen , a western forest island of the extensive Harthäuser Forest, begins at a distance of a quarter of a kilometer .
District roads connect the place with Siglingen in the north and Stein am Kocher in the south (both times K 2136) and with Ernstein in the east (K 2027).
history
The place was first mentioned in 1319 as Crebesbach . The place name is borrowed from the water of the same name - once rich in cancer - which rises east of the village and flows into the Jagst near Herbolzheim .
The place shares the ownership history of the main town Siglingen, so it was under the rule of the Lords of Weinsberg from the 14th to the middle of the 15th century , came to the Electoral Palatinate in 1445 and to Württemberg in 1504 . At the time of the Weinsbergers, Kreßbach was a customs post on the road from Heilbronn to Mergentheim . Tithe or other income from Kreßbach lay the pen Mosbach , the monastery Seligental in the Lords of Adelsheim and the monastery Schöntal .
The place essentially only consists of a few agricultural properties to the left and right of Dorfstrasse (K 2136). An old school house with a fountain forms the center of the village.
