District of Frankfurt (Oder)
The district of Frankfurt (Oder) was a district of the state of Brandenburg in the GDR and existed from 1950 to 1952.
Emergence
The district was created as part of the first GDR district reform on July 1, 1950 from parts of the parts of the former Prussian districts west of the Oder-Neisse line :

Beeskow-Storkow district (also renamed Fürstenwalde district )
- two municipalities,

District of Guben (divided between the district of Cottbus and the district of Frankfurt)
- northern district area (33 municipalities),

District of Lebus (renamed as District of Seelow )
- 14 municipalities,

District of Lübben (Spreewald)
- 22 municipalities (including the city of Friedland (Niederlausitz) ) and
- City district of Frankfurt (Oder) .

During the second administrative reform of July 25, 1952 (district reform and formation of the Frankfurt district ), the Frankfurt (Oder) district was dissolved again and its area was divided into the following districts:
- Beeskow district
- Fürstenberg district (from 1961: Eisenhüttenstadt-Land district )
- District of Guben (in the district of Cottbus )
- City district Frankfurt (Oder)
