The cross is a 2174 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Dead Mountains in Upper Austria . Known as the apple orchard south flank decreases schrofendurchsetzten grass mats from the field pit and is known for its flora. Facing the Hetzau valley is the vertical north wall, partly made of brittle rock, which is bordered in the west by a prominent, stepped edge. A ridge leads north to the Zwillingkogel . To the east the ridge of the Prielkamm leads to the Kirtagmauer . The much-visited summit with a wooden summit cross is easily accessible from the Welser Hut and offers a beautiful panoramic view. The cross is also a popular climbing mountain with a number of climbing routes such as the northwestern edge or the western intersection .
Ascent
There is no marked ascent to the summit. The normal route follows route 215 to the Welser Hut and through the southern flank, following the fall line onto the ridge and then east to the summit.
