Kreuzschuh (dialect: Greutschi ) is a place with about 200 inhabitants in the municipality of Stegaurach in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg .

geography

The village is located about eight kilometers southwest of Bamberg on an unnamed tributary of the Aurach , which rises in Spitalholz to the south. The old town is to the west, to the east, somewhat separated, is a settlement area. Local connecting roads lead to Erlau , Mühlendorf and Hartlanden. Neighboring towns are Erlau and Mühlendorf in the north, Hartlanden and Stegaurach in the east, and Oberharnsbach in the south. In the west it borders on the Birkacher Forest.

history

The former district of Hartlanden was reclassified into the municipality of Mühlendorf in 1959 , which came to the municipality of Stegaurach on January 1, 1978 due to the municipal reform.

The association Kreuzschuher Runde e. V. built a chapel in honor of St. Kunigunde . It was inaugurated in 2000.
