Hartlanden (dialect: Hädlond ) is a district of Stegaurach in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg with around 400 inhabitants.

geography

On a small hill in the Aurach Valley , about six kilometers southwest of the cathedral city of Bamberg , the village of Hartlanden (dialect "Hädlond") is located away from the busy streets. The Birkacher Forest and the Spitalholz border the Hartlandener Flur as foothills of the Steigerwald . A nameless stream rises in the southwest, feeds the village pond and flows north of the Stangersberg into a receiving water of the Aurach. In the east, the place is almost connected to the neighboring Dellerhof . Hartlanden is located in the center of the village at an altitude of 274 m and in Rothenbühlstrasse at 296 m. The Hartlandener Flur has a height between 270 m in the meadow ground in the east and 335 m in the forest near Rothenbühl in the west. Due to the poorly productive soil, the yields in agriculture are only moderate.

Neighboring towns are Mühlendorf in the north, Stegaurach in the east, Kreuzschuh in the west and Birkach in the south.

history

The first written mention of Hartlanden was in 1317. The place name indicates the difficult living conditions that prevailed due to the prevailing heavy clay soils. In 1361 there was a "Campus Hartenland" there. The village and community rulership was from 1388 to 1802 in the hands of the Lisberg barons of Münster. Hartlanden was probably destroyed in the Thirty Years War and only rebuilt at the end of the 17th century. The village once belonged to the upper parish in Bamberg and in 1762, with 22 inhabitants at that time, became part of the newly founded parish of Stegaurach. With 15 residential buildings and 90 inhabitants, it formed the political municipality of Hartlanden from 1818 together with Dellerhof , Dellern and Kreuzschuh . The first mayors were active for the common good (selection): Georg Wagner (at least 1876–1896), Josef Köbrich (1896–1910), Friedrich Stöcklein sen. (1910–1933), Wilhelm Steger (1933–1945), Andreas Hohl (1945–1948), Friedrich Stöcklein jun. (1948-1975). In 1959, Kreuzschuh was incorporated into the municipality of Mühlendorf and Dellern on January 1, 1973 in the municipality of Stegaurach. On April 1, 1975 was based on the municipal reform , the integration of the community hard landing (with the municipality parts Dellerhof and hard landing) in the municipality of Stegaurach. Hartlanden at that time had an area of 196 hectares and 223 inhabitants.

A milk house (near Ringstrasse 17) and a threshing machine hall (near Dellerhof) were built in the village in the post-war period for common use in agriculture . Both buildings have since been demolished.

The castle

The street names Burgweg and Linzenburg refer to a castle. It refers to three formerly isolated farmsteads that are located on a hill above the meadow. From the center of the village in the Ringstrasse they had been perceived by their elevated, isolated location like a throned castle. In the meantime these farmsteads are connected to the village center through the brisk construction activity.

Village economy

The old village inn opposite the village pond has been owned by the Wagner family for generations. It was visited with pleasure by the villagers and also by foreigners. The church fair was celebrated there and community meetings were held there. After the landlord's death, the economy was leased in the 1970s. In 1978 it was bought by a buyer and it was renovated. After the economy closed in 1984, a marquee was set up to celebrate the parish fair in June. There is now a horse farm in the old “Wertshaus”.

Village community center

Between 1996 and 1999, the villagers built a village community center with a fire brigade shed on their own with financial help from the Stegaurach community. It has been available to the villagers and clubs for fire protection and celebrations ever since. Architect: Günter Hummel, groundbreaking October 1, 1996, topping-out ceremony March 22, 1997, inauguration August 29, 1999. The neighboring old fire brigade shed from 1935 was demolished.

Maria Freudenreich Chapel

In 1906 the chapel building association was founded, to which all local residents belonged. The Maria Freudenreich chapel was built and furnished in the neo-Romanesque style by the then poor population of Hartlanden and Dellerhof on their own initiative without any public funding . On July 4th 1909 it was consecrated by the Franciscan Father Alcuin. The outer dimensions of the church are approx. 6.20 m × 9.50 m and after the later installation of a gallery offers space for 50–60 people. The 100th consecration day was celebrated from June 19-22, 2009.
