Mühlendorf (dialect: Müllndäff ) is a part of the municipality of Stegaurach in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg with around 800 inhabitants.
geography
The village is located about 7 km southwest of Bamberg in the Aurach valley . Neighboring towns are Stegaurach in the east, Kreuzschuh in the south, Hartlanden in the southeast, Erlau in the west, and Bischberg and Weipelsdorf in the north.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1303. Mühlendorf was an independent municipality with the district Seehöflein . In 1959, Kreuzschuh was reclassified from the Hartlanden community to Mühlendorf. On January 1, 1978 as part of the municipal reform the church disbanded; all three places were incorporated into the community of Stegaurach.

Mühlendorf is the seat of the bus and construction company Matthäus Metzner and a small brewery called Mühlenbräu .
traffic
The state road 2276 connects the place in the east with Stegaurach and in the west with Erlau and Walsdorf . There are communal roads to Kreuzschuh and Hartlanden .
A city bus line and a line of the Omnibus-Verkehrsgesellschaft-Franken (OVF) connects Mühlendorf with Bamberg and several villages (Untersteinbach, Grub, Trossenfurt, Ebelsbach) in the Steigerwald .
