Höfen (dialect: Höfn ) is part of the municipality of Stegaurach in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg , Bavaria .

history

The formerly independent municipality of Höfen (with the municipal parts of Höfen, Knottenhof, Unteraurach and Waizendorf) was incorporated into the municipality of Stegaurach with effect from January 1, 1972 .

On January 1, 1918, the Boveri family's mill, including fields, fields and meadows, was sold to a trust company. The families Walter, Marsella and Robert Boveri agreed to sell only the land, but to keep the castle and garden for themselves. The writer Margret Boveri (1900–1975) often stayed at this summer residence .
