Kreuzthal is a formerly independent municipality and a parish village of the Buchenberg market in the Oberallgäu district in Bavaria. Besides Buchenberg, the Kürnacher Wald and the Buchenberger Wald , Kreuzthal is one of the four districts of Buchenberg. Kreuzthal is located in the heart of Adelegg , right next to and only through the Eschach stream from this separate district of Eisenbach in the Baden-Württemberg town of Isny im Allgäu .

history

In 1717 Kreuzthal became an independent parish . In 1830 the parish had over 800 inhabitants. On April 1, 1971, Kreuzthal was incorporated into Buchenberg. In 2000 the parish of Kreuzthal had 400 inhabitants. The last official population census in 1987 counted a total of 137 inhabitants.

Village center

In the center of Kreuzthal is the church of St. Martin, built in 1746 on the Kirchberg. Below the Kirchberg is a mighty village linden tree, planted in 1870 by soldiers returning home from the wars against Prussia and France. It was thanks for the peace and the memory of fallen comrades. Next to the natural monument is the “Kreuz” inn with a ballroom for 200 people.

Gohrersberg ski lift

The Gohrersberg ski lift is a drag lift that was put into service in 1969 . It is located on the western slope of the Gohrersberg. The valley station of the ski lift is not far east of the Eschach at about 820  m above sea level. NN , the mountain station on the Gohrersberg at 964  m above sea level. NN .
