The game is a typical point & click adventure, the characters are drawn. You play from the point of view of the game character and move through the game surface using a cursor stylized as an arrow. Rotary movements are possible at an angle of 90 °. If interactions are possible on the surface, the cursor changes accordingly (to an arrow for a door or a hand to pick up something or to speak to someone). There are several ways to die in the game. If you find death, the game is over and starts again at the last saved point.

In the inventory there is an interactive lexicon with which one can find out about the history of the Crusades and the Middle Ages . Objects used or picked up and people and objects with which one has interacted are shown as pictograms. There are a multitude of possibilities for interaction, whereby you can mark the pictograms of the inventory with a mouse click and then use them with a person or an object on the game screen.

The design and characters are from Moebius , the creator of Blueberry and The Incal .

action

France in 1208. The young scholar Simon de Lancrois comes into possession of a mysterious manuscript that a Knight Templar brought back from a crusade. The book belonged to his father, from whom he now receives the order to bring the writing to Compostela to one of his confidants. Simon then sets off on the arduous journey across the Pyrenees - without knowing that Pope Innocent III. to whom the paper is extremely important, has already sent the Grand Inquisitor Diego d'Osma after him to intercept Simon.

The game looks like Pilgrim in some places , but has been significantly improved. The background is still drawn, but the characters involved are real and have been inserted into the game screen using video technology. You play from the third person perspective.

The game is made up of 26 successive puzzles, each of which is introduced by a video sequence. Each puzzle corresponds to a scene divided into several locations, through whose venues you can move with a mouse click. The possible interaction is shown by changing the cursor. If this becomes a loudspeaker, you can listen to a mono or dialogue between certain people. If a hand is stylized, objects (sometimes people) can be picked up. These are shown as a pictogram in the inventory. There is also a lexicon where you can look up terms. Here, too, it is possible to add people and objects to the inventory. For each scene there is a puzzle in which certain people or objects - which one has previously found in the scene or in the lexicon - must be inserted in order to solve the puzzle.

action

There Arthaud is supposed to unearth the relics of the holy cross and bring them back into the western sphere of influence. But his journey is full of dangers and he keeps clashing with the armies of Saladin . In addition, he stumbles upon a conspiracy at the Christian royal court in Jerusalem, which almost kills him.

The game is actually the first part of a two-part game and forms a complete plot with The Secret of Alamut .

The game is a pure graphic adventure in point & click style, you act from the perspective of the main character. This time the game screen is a 360 ° animation of the surroundings, through which you can move by moving the cursor in the direction of the edge of the screen. Possible interactions are indicated by changing the cursor. In the case of possible directions of movement, the cursor becomes an arrow, in the case of dialog options with people it becomes a speech bubble and a hand when objects can be picked up or used. There are many ways to die in the game, so each step should be carefully considered.

action

In the Orient of the 13th century. The player takes on the role of Tankred de Nèrac , a renegade French Knight Templar who has become a highwayman. Tankred has meanwhile been purified and decides to visit the prophet Simon de Lancrois . But when he arrives in the city of Jebus , where Simon is supposed to live, he learns that de Lancrois has lied to and deceived the citizens. Tankred - now on the road as Ay-Sayf - then sets off into the desert and goes in search of the false prophet in order to confront him.
