Kreyenburg is a small village near Willen that belongs to Wittmund .

geography

Kreyenburg is located between Angelsburg and Willen, since 1972 it has belonged to the town of Wittmund, three kilometers away. In terms of area, Kreyenburg is one of the smallest districts of Will. Kreyenburg is located on the Wittmund Forest and is 5 m above sea level. NN

history

The crossing at the entrance to the village of Willen was completed around 1900. In the 1920s, the crossing began on the Angelsburg side. In the 1950s, part of the Heidkampfweg was renamed Kreyenburg. In the early 1960s, the Angelsburg side of the intersection was called "Kreyenburg" in colloquial language, and in 1965 the new tree plantation next to the bus stop was renamed "Kreyenburg tree plantation". In 1971 Kreyenburg became independent from Angelsburg.

The community Willen, to which Kreyenburg belonged, was incorporated into Wittmund on August 16, 1972. In 1979 the company “Schoon” bought the old “Baumplantage Kreyenburg” and renamed it.

In Wittmund and also in Kreyenburg, over 90% of the population is Protestant.

The new tree plantation is used to sell fruit.

traffic

There is a bus stop 5 meters in front of the tree plantation, where buses go from Aurich to Wittmund. The main street at the junction with the B 210 goes to Emden on the A 31, which runs to Dortmund. The eastward part of the B 210 goes to Wilhelmshaven .
