Krieg is a court in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district of Wuppertal in the Siebeneick residential area .

Location and description

The Hofschaft is located at Kreisstraße  11 in the southeast of the residential area at an altitude of 279  m above sea level. NHN . Immediately adjacent is the location of Wolfsholz . Other neighboring locations are Worth , Brink , Schevensiepen , Fingscheid , Schevenhof , Steingeshof , Wüstenhof , Jungmannshof and Krähenberg .

The neighboring locations of Metzmachersrath , Triebel , Vogelsbruch , Branger , In den Birken and Grenz Jagdhaus have merged into a closed settlement area .

The war court was first mentioned in 1355 as vp me Krige in a list of goods belonging to the Hardenberg rule and in the late Middle Ages belonged to the area of ​​the Duchy of Berg . In 1703 the membership of the Hardenberg farmers' union Oberste Siebeneick is documented.

In the 16th century the farm is mentioned under the name Am Krieg . The place is marked on the municipality Charte of the parcel cadastre of the mayor's Hardenberg from 1815/16 as at war , a part of the place as rearmost war . From the topographical survey of the Rhineland in 1824, the name Krieg was recorded on topographical maps .

In the 19th century, the war court belonged to the Obensiebeneick peasantry of the Hardenberg mayor's office , which was renamed Neviges in 1935 . From 1816 to 1861 it belonged to the Elberfeld district and from 1861 to the old Mettmann district .

With the municipal reform of 1929, the southeastern part of Obensiebeneick was split off around war and incorporated into the newly founded city of Wuppertal together with southern Dönberg villages, the rest of Obensiebeneick initially remained with Neviges. Due to the regional reform of North Rhine-Westphalia , Neviges came to the city of Velbert at the beginning of 1975 and the rest of Obensiebeneick was also incorporated into Wuppertal.
