Kriegerherzen is a German independent fantasy film . In four years of production, more than 250 participants have contributed to the fantasy story of the Knights of Vallconnan and Gijak Shatraug. During a total of 44 days of shooting and 18 months of post-production , the minimal budget was balanced and a full-program feature film was created.

action

There is war with the orcs . But behind the multitudes of orcs are the Gijak Shatraug - dark wizards who are filled with their greed for unconditional power.

The Kingdom of Vallconnan has been defending the border with the Orklands for many years. The knights of the land managed to hold back the orcs. But then in the turmoil of the fighting, a kidnapping causes unrest. Murdock, a cold-hearted religious warrior, the young knight Lear as well as Vincent, the spoiled son of a nobleman and the ward Evelyn soon see each other more than just the orcs. A shadow falls ominously over the kingdom and a devastating storm draws in ...

background

The fantasy genre is one of the most elaborate of all film categories . Kriegerherzen was realized without financial support from sponsors or film funding . More than 250 participants were involved in the production without a fee or allowance - including professional stuntmen , full-time cameramen , lighting technicians as well as musicians and composers for the film music. Eight different castles between the Eifel and Lower Rhine (including Museum Schloss Burg an der Wupper , Rheydt Castle , the Kasselburg near Gerolstein, Liedberg Castle and Veldenz Castle on the Moselle) were among the locations.

With the support of some smaller companies from the film production sector in the form of free loan of equipment and technology, despite the lack of funds and mostly difficult scheduling of the many volunteers for the possible shooting days, sometimes very demanding implementations could be created. As is very often the case with filming, many opportunities only arose during the lengthy post- production process, for example in the area of digital effects .

premiere

After four years of production (2002-2005), the independent fantasy film "Warrior Hearts" was completed and was presented to the public on October 1, 2005 in a major cinema premiere. In their speeches, the initiators Lars Gatting and Rainer ZIPP Fränen thanked the large number of participants, without whose help the film would never have been made. Because many independent film projects are often denied actual completion for a variety of reasons.

A total of more than 450 visitors watched the independent feature film on the day of the premiere .
