Kristen Kit

Kristen Kit (born August 18, 1988 ) is a Canadian taxwoman in rowing .

Career

Kit started rowing in 2002. At the U23 World Championships in 2009, she drove the Canadian eighth to fourth place, in 2010 she won the bronze medal with eighth. In 2012 she competed with the LTA mixed foursome with helmsman at the Summer Paralympics and took seventh place. In 2013 she drove the Canadian eighth instead of longtime helmsman Lesley Thompson and won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Chungju. After Thompson returned to eighth in 2014, Kit was only a substitute woman. At the 2015 World Championships she took part in the LTA mixed foursome and won a bronze medal. In 2016, the Canadian LTA mixed foursome won the Rowing World Cup in Poznan in front of the boats from South Africa and Ukraine. At the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro , the British boat won ahead of the boat from the United States, behind which the Canadian four won the bronze medal.

After Lesley Thompson resigned after the 2016 Olympics, Kristen Kit moved back to eighth. At the 2017 World Championships , the Canadians won silver behind the Romanian eighth. The following year, the eighth from the United States won the World Championships in Plovdiv , followed by the Canadians, as in the previous year, winning silver.
