Kristi Zea

Kristina Gwyn "Kristi" Zea (born October 24, 1948 in New York City , New York ) is an American production designer , costume designer and film producer .

Life

Zea first attended Middlebury College in Vermont and studied English at Columbia University . In the 1980s, she first worked as a costume designer for Alan Parker on his films Fame - The Road to Fame , You or Both and Birdy . In 1987, she worked as art director on Parker's thriller Angel Heart . From 1986 she also worked as a film producer, her most important productions include Philadelphia , on which she also worked as an assistant director, and Better It Couldn't Be Better , for which she was nominated for an Oscar . After 1986 she only worked very rarely as a costume designer, from 1988 onwards she mainly worked as a production designer. In 2009, she received her second Academy Award nomination for her production design in times of turmoil .

Zea is married and has one child.
