Kristin Merscher

Kristin Merscher (* 1961 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German pianist and university teacher .

Life

At the age of eight she was a student of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling at the Music Academy in Hanover . From 1977 she studied at the Paris Conservatory with Pierre Sancan and (from 1980 to 1982) with György Sebők at Indiana University in Bloomington ( USA ). She has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra , the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Munich Philharmonic , among others . She has performed as a soloist all over Europe, North America and the Far East. In addition to productions for radio and television, she has recorded piano concertos with various orchestras, solo repertoire and chamber music, including with the cellist Maria Kliegel . Since 1990 she has been professor of piano at the Saar University of Music in Saarbrücken and is currently also dean of Faculty I "Stage and Concert".
