Kristina Antonie Fehrs (born June 25, 1981 in Hamburg ) is a German opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Career

Fehrs studied stage and concert singing at the Musikhochschule Lübeck with Günter Binge and at the University of Music in Vienna with Leopold Spitzer . The singer received her diploma in 2010. During her studies she was engaged at the Kiel Opera, where she sang the second witch in Dido and Aeneas under Reinhard Goebel .

This was followed by roles at the Eutin Festival , Charlotte in The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein ( 2009 ) and Annina in La traviata ( 2010 ). In the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons she was engaged at the Graz Opera, where she sang all lyrical mezzo and alto parts, including Siebel in Faust , Sonjetka in Lady Macbeth of Mzensk , the first maid in Elektra , Anna Kennedy in Maria Stuarda and a witch in Dido and Aeneas . In the following seasons, the mezzo-soprano was engaged at the Lübeck Theater, at the Regensburg Theater and in numerous productions again at the Kiel Opera. She worked with well-known directors such as Matthias Hartmann , Marco Marelli , Johannes Erath , Stefano Poda and Michiel Dijkema . In Peter Konwitschny's production of La traviata , she played Flora in the premiere cast.

Kristina Antonie Fehrs has been a permanent member of the Saxon State Opera choir since the 2015/16 season . Her concert repertoire includes numerous songs, masses and cantatas, Bach's Christmas Oratorio , Handel's Messiah , Paulus and Elias von Mendelssohn, the Petite Messe solennelle by Rossini and the Alto Rhapsody by Brahms. In addition to her work as a singer, the artist also moderates classical gala concerts. Kristina Antonie Fehrs is the sister of Henrike Fehrs .
