Stefano Poda (* 1973 in Trento ) is an Italian opera director .

In order to guarantee the aesthetic unity of his work for the music theater, the Italian Stefano Poda is always responsible for the staging, stage, costumes, lighting and also choreography, which gives his stagings their own unique, artistic character. His staging of Gounod's Faust at the Teatro Regio di Torino in 2015 in coproduction with the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv and the Opéra Lausanne was shown in cinemas worldwide (DVD Unitel) as well as Turandot (DVD Unitel) and 2008 Thaïs (DVD Arthaus); The latter was also chosen by BBC Music Magazine 2012 as one of 20 groundbreaking opera productions in the past 20 years. In 2019 Stefano Poda for Ariane et Barbe-Bleue by Paul Dukas at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse was awarded the "Prix Claude-Rostand de la Critique Française 2019" in the category "Best opera production" and was also a guest of honor at the PQ Prague Quadrennial 2019, the world's largest exhibition for stage and performance design.
