Krokus: As Long as We Live is a Swiss documentary and the second DVD by the Swiss hard rock band Krokus .
Summary
The documentary Krokus: As Long as We Live gives the viewer information about the eventful history of the most successful Swiss rock band Krokus . The film chronologically shows the most important events from the pre-crocus era at the end of the 60s and beginning of the 70s to the low point of the career around the studio album Change of Address in 1986. The multi-perspective, in which the rapid rise and the like rapid descent of the band is illuminated. In addition to the band members Fernando von Arb, Chris von Rohr , Jürg Naegeli, Freddy Frutig (artist name: Freddy Steady) and Marc Storace , who were active or former band members at the time the film was made, several former companions from the most varied of fields have their say: the graphic artist and Dialect musician Polo Hofer , the roadie Sandro de Rigo, the first band manager Heinz Meier, the journalist H. Elias Fröhlich, the later manager Butch Stone, the tour manager LD Glover, the sound engineer Bob Ketchum, the wife of Freddy Steady, Heather Frutig, the brother by Tommy Kiefer, Dani Kiefer as well as with Bruno Huber from Ariola , Mike Bone from Arista and John Kalodner von Geffen three employees of record companies who are important for the history of Krokus. So it is possible for the viewer to understand different points of view - the differences of which are partly also clearly expressed - on the events around the band and to understand their connections. The film ends with a short retrospective on Fernando von Arb's cancer and finally with the reconciliation of von Arb and bassist Chris von Rohr, which was also captured visually by means of a jam session with acoustic guitars in Solothurn .
background
From today's perspective, the production and subsequent publication of this documentary in 2004 was ultimately the beginning of the return of Krokus in the original formation, which became a reality in 2008, Marc Storace , Fernando von Arb, Mark Kohler, Chris von Rohr and Freddy Steady. In particular, the reconciliation between von Arb and von Rohr, which is captured in pictures, plays a key role in this regard, because Fernando von Arb left Krokus in 2005 while touring for the studio album Rock the Block , and then reunion with von Rohr and later Freddy Steady to force the primordial formation of crocus.
