Krunoslav Simon (born June 24, 1985 in Zagreb , SR Croatia ) is a Croatian basketball player . Simon first played in his hometown for KK Zagreb, with whom he won three national cup competitions, one of which in 2011 in connection with the Croatian championship as a double . After playing in the Spanish ACB 2012/13 league at CB Unicaja Málaga, Simon will play for the Russian ULEB Eurocup winner Lokomotive Kuban Krasnodar in the 2013/14 season . In the 2015-2016 season he signed a contract with Olimpia Milano. Simon currently plays for Anadolu Efes Istanbul.

Career

Simon began his career at KK Zagreb , where he moved up to the first team in 2002 at the age of 17. As a result, the team was able to work its way to the top of the national league and won a national title for the first time in the cup competition in 2008. Two years later this success could be repeated and a year later they not only defended the cup title in 2011, but also won the championship for the first time. In the 2011/12 championship round , however, the defending champion missed making the play-off semi- finals and was unable to defend the cup title. Simon then moved abroad to Spain for the first time, where he has been playing for Unicaja from Málaga with his former Zagreb teammate Luka Žorić since 2012 . After he was eliminated with KK Zagreb in the preliminary round of the ULEB Euroleague 2011/12 , he reached the round of the 16 best teams in the ULEB Euroleague 2012/13 with Málaga . There they left early. In the Spanish ACB league they missed out on ninth place because of the poorer direct comparison to make it into the play-offs for the Spanish championship. For the 2013/14 season, Simon got a contract with the Russian club Lokomotive Kuban from Krasnodar , which will play as the winner of the Eurocup 2012/13 and runner-up in the Eastern European VTB United League 2012/13 in the ULEB Euroleague 2013/14 .

With the Croatian national team , Simon won the final against Greece at the Mediterranean Games in 2009 . At the European Championship finals in 2011 in Lithuania, due to the poorer direct comparison , they missed the entry into the intermediate round and thus also a qualification for the Olympic Games.
