Krutschyk ( Ukrainian Кручик ; Russian Кручик Krutschik ) is a village in the northwest of the Ukrainian Oblast Kharkiv with about 850 inhabitants (2004).

The village, founded in 1770, is located in the district council of Pavlivka in Bohoduchiw district .

House of Vasily Karasin

Kruchyk lies mostly on the left bank of the Merla , a 116 km long left tributary of the Worskla , 11 km west of the district center Bohoduchiw and about 70 km northwest of the oblast center Kharkiv .

Sons and daughters of the village

  • Vasily Karasin (1773–1842), statesman, writer, inventor, educator and enlightener and founder of the University of Kharkov, was born in the village.
