Krzysztof Beck (born April 12, 1930 in Kołomyja ; † July 3, 1996 in Bydgoszcz ) was a Polish weightlifter .

Career

As a teenager, Krzysztof Beck mainly did athletics . He was a good sprinter, but he also hit the ball over twelve meters. He attended a business school and later joined the Polish armed forces. In the early 1950s he turned to weightlifting and then moved to Legia Warsaw . His coach there was Józef Styczynski. In 1952 he became the first Polish middleweight champion, with the modest performance of 305 kg, from which it can be seen that Polish weightlifting was at the very beginning.

Beck won medals at two European championships and achieved excellent placements at the 1956 and 1960 Olympic Games and at the 1955 and 1957 World Championships.

After his time as an active weightlifter, he was a very successful trainer who did an excellent job in the Bydgoszcz and Warsaw training centers and led many Polish weightlifters to the top of the world.
